Bohemia, New York (October 2019) – Data Device Corporation (DDC) introduces a new version of its popular MIL-STD-1553 to USB maintenance adapter featuring two dual redundant 1553 channels, each capable of operating in Bus Controller (BC), or Multi-Remote Terminal (RT) modes, with a concurrent Bus Monitor (MT). The BU-67123U201L is electrically equivalent to the first generation device (BU-67123U200L) with enhancements to its mechanical construction. Mechanical improvements include a new compact and rugged enclosure design, improved cable strain relief, and robust auxiliary connectors with quick disconnect features and a secure latching mechanism. The BU-67123U201L has been tested and qualified to meet many MIL-STD-810G specifications, including high/low operating and storage temperature; blowing rain/wind/sand/dust; shock and vibration; humidity; and explosive atmosphere. The robust, compact, and USB-powered aspects of this design make it ideal for flight-line diagnostics and system troubleshooting of MIL-STD-1553 buses.
Offering a complete hardware and software solution, the adapter includes the BU-69092SX series MIL-STD-1553 AceXtreme™ C Software Development Kit (SDK), including source code samples and detailed documentation. Additional time saving plug and play software packages are available, including the BusTrACEr™ 1553 graphical analyzer/simulator, which enables the adapter to be programmed in minutes with automated application C code generation, and dataSIMS real-time avionics bus analysis software, that provides an easy-to-use graphical interface, simplifying MIL-STD-1553 testing.
Benefits include:
- High Reliability
- Quick disconnecting cables
- Rugged standard 38999 connector
- MIL-STD-810 compliance for shock, vibration, etc.
- Flexibility & Ease-of-Use
- Enables 1553 to be tested or updated on any system
- Suitable for both embedded and portable applications
- USB interface – ideal for use with desktops/laptops
- Save Time & Reduce Cost
- Complete hardware and software solution
- Common test/embedded API for rapid prototyping with less programming time
- Program in minutes with BusTrACEr™ automated application C code generation
"DDC’s second generation rugged 1553 to USB maintenance adapter is ideal for use in MIL-STD-1553 applications that require system diagnostic testing while operating in rugged environmental conditions. The unique breakaway technology incorporated into the cable and USB device significantly minimizes the potential for failures and downtime of both test equipment and the DUT (Device Under Test) caused by accidental mishandling of the interfacing cables," said Mike Vega, Product Line Manager, Data Bus Systems and Boards.
